Water is the preferred extinguishing medium in modern fire safety concepts. As a free commodity, it is inexpensive and always available in sufficient quantities.
Sprinkler systems make optimum use of the potential of water for extinguishing fires and are extremely efficient, as they are triggered selectively and only come on wherever there is a fire which needs to be put out. Once activated, the sprinklers contain fires to their source and make the job of the fire brigade much easier in the process.
They are suitable for protecting commercial and industrial premises, hotels and hospitals. By mixing in foaming agents which form a film, the use of sprinkler systems can be broadened to virtually all risk areas.
